Be Proud Celebrating National Police Week 2023
National Police Week 2023, which took place from Sunday, May 14, until Saturday, May 20, was a time to honor and recognize the invaluable service and sacrifices of law enforcement officers. Throughout the week, Be Proud Inc organized a special event to honor and show appreciation to the New York Police Department (NYPD). As part of the event, we had the privilege to visit and express our heartfelt thanks to several significant entities within the NYPD. These included the 60th, 61st, and 62nd Precincts of the City of New York, as well as the NYPD Patrol Borough Brooklyn South and One Police Plaza. Our purpose was to recognize the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices made by the officers in these precincts and departments in keeping our community safe.
We had the privilege of visiting the 61st precinct. Our group of Be Proud Inc included Chairwoman CB15 Theresa Scavo, Raisa Chernina, Executive Director and Founder, and board members Alexander Zhorov and Marina Trofimova.
Councilman Ari Kagan and Board Member Adam Dzhangaryan visited the 62nd Police Precinct to extend heartfelt gratitude to Police Officers for their unwavering dedication and service to the community.
Our dear friends at Melanie Wholesale also expressed their appreciation for National Police Week and kindly presented us with special sweet gifts. Their gesture of support and recognition for the police during this important week was truly heartwarming. We are grateful for their friendship and for joining us in honoring the dedicated service of law enforcement officers.
We were also delighted to have the opportunity to honor the NYPD Patrol Borough Brooklyn South and One Police Plaza. It was a moment of great pride for us to show our appreciation and pay tribute to these integral parts of the New York City Police Department.
To show our appreciation, our dedicated volunteers from A2Z Happyland Daycare, Novikov Family and the students of SK Academy have prepared a collection of big posters, photos, and drawings as a token of gratitude. These heartfelt creations represent the voices of the children and students who recognize and admire the vital role the police play in keeping our communities safe.
In addition to our young volunteers, we are honored to have the presence of our respected grandmothers, Volunteers Mara Goldshtein and Tatyana Tayts, who have joined us to personally express their appreciation to the police. Their presence symbolizes the collective gratitude of the community, representing the sentiments of countless individuals who are thankful for the tireless efforts of law enforcement personnel.
